Thanks
For Standing Up & Being Counted In 2009
NVIC
Director, Barbara Loe Fisher
I would like to pause
during this season of remembrance and celebration to give thanks to
those who made 2009 special for the NVIC charity working to prevent
vaccine injuries and deaths through public education and defend the
informed consent ethic in medicine. On the nearly 30 year journey
that those of us at the National Vaccine Information Center have
taken, every year men and women of conscience and conviction have
stepped forward to help us protect those who have no voice and have
no choice. NVIC Director Barbara Loe Fisher says: "Thank
you to Joe Mercola & TechStars, to the NVIC Conference Speakers &
Attendees, to principled journalists, Health Care Workers &
Citizen Activists and NVIC Staff & Donor Supporters."
She continues, "ONE

Thank you to everyone who made 2009 a year filled with as many
blessings to count as there were challenges to meet. In this season
of thanksgiving and remembrance, I hope you will join us by adopting
NVIC as one of your favorite charities.

H1N1 Vaccine Disaster Toll Rises

Public
health officer Dr David Butler-Jones: Officials hope to persuade
millions more of those folks to get vaccinated
(Caption

There have been 24
confirmed cases of a type of severe allergic reaction called
anaphylaxis in Canadians who have received an H1N1 flu shot,
including one person who died after getting vaccinated, the head of
the Public Health Agency of Canada said Wednesday. Butler-Jones
disclosed the information in Ottawa during a news conference at which
federal health officials revealed flu activity appears to be
levelling off. All but 15,000 doses of the vaccine had been used by
the time the halt-use order was issued, said Dr. Danielle Grondin,
assistant deputy minister of the public health agency. But confirmed
cases of anaphylaxis have been seen with other batches as well. And
some possible cases may still be under investigation.

Repeats In Published Study - Swine Flu Caused By Laboratory
Escape

Adrian
Gibbs, the virologist who said in May that swine flu may have escaped
from a laboratory, published his findings today, renewing discussion
about the origins of the pandemic virus. The new H1N1 strain, which
was discovered in Mexico and the U.S. in April, may be the product of
three strains from three continents that swapped genes in a lab or a
vaccine-making plant, Gibbs, and fellow Australian scientists wrote
in Virology Journal. The authors analyzed the genetic makeup of the
virus and found its origin could be more simply explained by human
involvement than a coincidence of nature. “It
is important that the source of the new virus be found if we wish to
avoid future pandemics rather than just trying to minimize the
consequences after they have emerged,”
said Gibbs.
