ALZ...MEDICAL
PARADOX....OR DANGEROUS DRUGS?
Dear
Dr. Kohls: Copied below is a post from the Alzheimers'
Caregivers Forum that I am certain will be no surprise to you
regarding the tragic experiences of the Alzheimers' patient and his
family due primarily to Big Pharma's control and influence on the
medical profession.
I
know your holistic practice --
http://www.mindbodymedicineduluth.com/ --
does not yet include a focus on Alzheimers per se. However,
with large numbers of persons being labeled as having "Alzheimers"
at younger ages every day -- "EOAD," this is fast-becoming
an issue for every practitioner.
I
know you have already prepared your lecture titled "The
Drugs May Be The Problem: Invonvenient Truths About Psychotropic
Drugs and the Pharmaceutical Industry," for
the seminar in Minneapolis, Minnesota, sponsored by the Social
Services Association at the Bloomington Sheraton Hotel, 7800
Normandale Blvd (just north of the intersection of Highway
100 and 94).on Friday, March 28, 2008, but I am wondering
whether you might also include a mention that the same sort
of dangerous adverse drug reactions/interactions occur regularly
in countless Alzheimers' patients?
Another
poster on the link I am providing asks, "how many doctors view
this site?" Realistically, not many doctors have the time
to review message board posts. I can report my review of
such posts cause "shivers down my spine" and "my hair
to stand on end!!!" Many of the horrific
changes being reported are regarding medications designed to
supposedly slow down progression of Alzheimers -- even the drug
companies admit the drugs are not actual treatments with any
expectation of "cure...." Patients
become anxious, agitated, suffer hallucination and delusions, etc.,
etc. and end up being "doped down" by tranquilizers,
sleep-aids and more.
Alzheimers
patients, like the patients you are helping -- those with mental
disabilities, bi-polar, ADHD, etc., are prescribed one drug on top of
another (not by you, of course). As you know, each
"symptom" or "compilation of symptoms" yields yet
another prescription complete with a lenghty list of side effects!
ALL
of this is happening with no regard for "hazardous stimulation"
-- "toxic exposure" -- resulting frrom sleeping close to
electric meters, gas meters, electric appliances such as clocks,
monitors, fans, etc., telephone equipment including cordless phone
transformers -- all close to persons beds. There are increasing
reports of persons using cell phones for hours at a time -- carrying
cell phones in pockets -- sleeping on top of cell phones.
These issues demand immediate attention and such information will
also lead to further investigation re possible wiring errors,
currents on waterpipes, etc. The potential
harm from synergystic reactions due to combinations of numerous drugs
and hazardous, close, chronic, prolonged EMF/EMR exposures is
enormous!!!! Our bodies and brains are
electric........
We
know various electromagnetic stimulation is used for therapy.
Too involved to cite now but we need to ask the question, "what
happens if the electric currents -- the "therapy device" --
would be left in place all night long, night after night?
We
don't know whether the innocent dad mentioned below was sleeping
close to electric or telephone equipment when "he went
ballistic...." What if he was.....????
I
have addressed this appeal to you but really, it is meant for anyone
working in the medical profession. You are already doing a
terrific job of informing the public re dangers of medications.
It is just that we need to inform the medical profession re
"combination effects" because it will be many years before
the FDA, or other governmental agencies will make proper, prudent
avoidance recommendations to the AMA. What I write about
close EMF/EMR exposures is "only tip of iceberg!"
We don't know how much harm is being caused by the cellular antennae,
high voltage powerlines and WiFi. It is my strong
belief we will not achieve any semblance of "common sense"
until close, nightly electric field exposures are well-known.
Best
wishes and take care - Joanne

Hello
to you all. I thank everyone for their well wishes and prayers on the
loss of my father. I didn't want to bring that thread back to the
top, since it's time to let go.
On to the important lessons
that dad helped me learn the last few weeks of his life. When he was
first diagnosed, and he knew this disease was going to kill him, he
said over and over that he wanted to just help others. Well, this is
one way that I can aid him in achieving that.
First, and most
importantly: there are wonderful medications that can help us to
treat this disease. We should use them whenever they can be
advantageous. What I would encourage you all to
do is to learn very well what kind of drugs your loved one does not
tolerate well. My father
could not take any anti-psychotic medication. In the end, our not
realizing this in time is what took him. He had taken one med a
couple years back and had a terrible reaction to it, and then
recently we tried another, and he ended up in the ER because he went
positively ballistic. When we got him there, they gave him a third
anti-psychotic med. When it didn't work, and he got even worse, they
gave him another dose, and another dose, and then another.
My mother and I were exhausted, and we weren't able to
put together all the pieces of the puzzle until it was too late. The
meds that were supposed to be calming him down were actually making
him worse. Later, in another setting, with another doctor (far more
skilled in end of life geriatrics) we would hear for the first time
that my father was a "medical paradox" so uncommon that he
was nearly impossible to treat with traditional methods. But still I
feel that had we looked at the situation from the outside, we might
have been able to see that something was going on beyond his temper
and behavior issues.
That is my first lesson. Step outside the
box. It's so hard to see the details when you live them every day.
Get a pen and paper, write things down. Sit outside, away from your
LO and try to get a new perspective. Don't think just about the last
two months, you may have to consider the last two years, or their
time since diagnosis. You may be shocked at what's been right in
front of you all along.
I will post a new thread for the
other part of what I wanted to say since this is getting long!
